If there are many processor intensive applications then it is important to improve the PC s memory by adding one more RAM module. Also, don t miss out checking the system configuration to ensure there aren t many programs to occupy the memory space during the start up. Perform a disk clean up to ensure that you have ample free space available on the hard disk. At times, the poorly fragmented hard disk leads to a sluggish computer system. So perform a disk defragmentation to enhance the performance of the system. After carrying out the above mentioned steps scan the system with the help of anti virus or anti spy ware applications and remove any malicious software if present. Remove the cover of the CPU and check out the functioning of the fan. If it does not work, then it is the reason behind the computer running slowly, replace it at once.
